Product Description
About the Product
This powerful herbal is a combination of some of the most calming herbals used in Ayurveda, often associated with a Vata imbalanced state. An excitable nervous system often creates a feeling of restlessness, stress and frustration, and/or occasional sleeplessness. This formula soothes the mind and helps focus and clarity, while supporting the adrenals.
This blend was specifically formulated by Trupti Gokani, MD based on her clinical experience with these individual herbals, along with the literature behind these individual ingredients.

Cautions: With any product ingested, there are always potential side effects that can occur. Many over the counter products, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) have long lists of potential side effects. We rarely see any side effects with this product, but do want you to be aware of reported side effects. Some of the effects of this blend are not “side effects” but results of shifts in your system that can occur as the doshas come more into alignment. Nonetheless, we have listed the more reported effects here as “cautions”.
Keep in mind that references such as:
A-Z Guide to Drug- Herb-Vitamin Interactions, Edited by Alan Gaby, MD and written by Healthnotes states, in the 2006 edition,:
“At the time of writing, there were no well-known drug interactions with ashwaganda”
- Be careful using this herbal with sedative medications as these herbals may have a nervine, calming effect
- Monitor liver function and blood sugar while on this herbal (along with any supplement you choose to take). This blend, since it supports the adrenals, may lower blood sugars. It also may increase T4, thus monitor thyroid and cholesterol. Cholesterol levels are often affected by thyroid. If you are on any medication (i.e. statins) or over the counter (i.e Tylenol) that can affect liver function, please only not take under physician supervision.
- This blend may have a diuretic effect, thus monitor with diuretics.
- Rare side effects can be vertex headache, stomach upset, dizziness and nausea, diarrhea or abdominal pain. Occasionally skin itching or burning may occur. Can stimulate white blood cell, red blood cell or platelet counts. Full clinical significance of this is not known. Very rare cases of abnormal heart rhythm, breathing problems, sedation, low blood pressure and kidney damage have been reported. Stop if any of these symptoms occur or discuss with your health care provider in terms of managing the dose
- Ashwaganda is rich in iron. Keep this in mind if you have excess iron stores.
- Do not use if ulcers are present. Treat ulcer first, then take this product. Ashwaganda is a Pitta-inducing (heating) herbal, thus can increase heat in the digestive system. Remember that this is a blend of 4 herbals, thus no studies on this product have shown any risk of ulcers.
- May interfere with amphetamines, cholinesterase inhibitors, chemotherapeutics, anticoagulants, immunomodulatory medications and lower blood pressure. This mainly comes from the rare reports of ashwaganda interacting with these medications.
- If you have any medical condition (Multiple sclerosis, Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis), only take blend this if you are under the guidance of a physician, so your system can be monitored and doses adjusted for your specific medical needs. Occasionally individuals with an autoimmune disorder may have a worsening of their autoimmune condition with Ashwaganda. This is a reported risk, but not frequent, and seems to be linked only to the Ashwaganda component. Since this is a synergistic blend of four herbals, this type of reaction may not occur, but has not been studied. Thus, in this scenario, it is best to take this product only under physician supervision.
- Stop this herbal two weeks prior to surgery. Not to be used during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding.
